Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions Donates a New Set of Tires

The AmCoach receives a new set of tires at Speedco in Dallas, TX

During a recent lubrication at Speedco in Dallas, TX, it was pointed out that we needed to watch the wear on our tires.  To our surprise, the next day, we received an email from Angela Gallagher, Public Relations Manager with Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions in Muscatine, IA.  Bridgestone wanted to give us a "new set of shoes" for the AmCoach.

A full set of Bridgestone Tires were coordinated with Angela and Mike Barrett, Vice President Sales and Marketing, a tire specialist with Speedco. They were shipped to the Speedco Dallas location.  Speedco provided the mounting of the tires.

The AmCoach service is growing each year.  Drivers are becoming aware of the service that is sponsored by the industry.  With the increased miles, "where the rubber meets the road" is a safety issue of utmost importance.

The AmCoach will be on display at the Great West Truck Show in Las Vegas, NV starting June 17 and ending June 19.  Please include the AmCoach, booth #1046, in your show activities.

After the show, the AmCoach will pick up a driver in Henderson, NV.  He experienced a stroke while working away from home.  The driver's wife, son and his wife, will be traveling with the coach to help with the medical needs of the driver while in transit.

Bob Hataway, President of TransAlive, added, "We are also working with a driver in Las Cruces, NM.  His wife needs to go to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ.  Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions make our AmCoach program possible."  The service is free to drivers and their families.

The AmCoach program was initiated in 2000 and has since handled over 100 trips involving drivers nationwide.  It is a 1984 40' converted Model 10 Eagle coach.  Every opportunity has been taken to make trips comfortable for drivers and their families.

The AmCoach has a driver compartment; a driver lounge; a dinning area; a bathroom facility; and a bedroom.  Hataway stated, "It has all the comforts of home."  You may go to the TransAliveUSA web site at http://www.transalive.com for more information concerning the AmCoach program.
