First Annual International Day of Prayer for Truckers

The First International Day of Prayer for Truckers will be conducted March 25, 2010 in room B104 in the South Wing of the Exposition Center in Louisville, KY at 9:00AM.  The program will be presented in conjunction with the 39th Annual Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville.

Gary Naussbaum, Regional Director for Transport For Christ, will be keynote speaker.  Gary and his wife Pearl, have been actively involved internationally with truckers through TFC.

Joe Hunter, President of TruckStop Ministries, will voice the prayer for truckers at exactly 9:00AM.  Chaplain Joe is heard weekly on the Dave Nemo Truckers show on XM Radio.

Jerry and Sharon Benson will present special music. They are known for their musical talent and their willingness to give of themselves to minister to drivers.  Sharon has won the Favorite Female Vocalist of the Year Award in gospel music.  Jerry is involved with trucking as a driver and as an owner operator.

Bob Hataway, President of TransAliveUSA, will serve as MC.  Hataway introduced, "We are happy to present the first annual International Day of Prayer for Truckers."

Ten years ago, Bob Hataway, Joe Hunter, and Gary Nussbaum met at the Mid America Trucking Show and planned the National Day of Prayer for Truckers.  This year will officially introduce prayer for drivers world wide.

At our previous observances for the National Day of Prayer for Truckers, we received requests from drivers in other countries to include them.  "With 21st century technology, we can make the program available by Internet world wide including all drivers everywhere," Hataway exclaimed.

We invite everyone to join with us at 9:00AM, your local time, to pray for our truckers and their families.  Prayers offered at local times will ensure prayers being offered throughout the day.

We are asking carriers, trucking companies, owner operators, vendors, truckstops, receivers, and shippers to set aside a moment of silence at 9:00AM on March 25, 2010 for prayer for the truckers and their families everywhere.

The International Day of Prayer for Truckers is sponsored by TransAlive USA, Truckstop Ministries, Transport for Christ, and Tim Young, CEO Mid-America Trucking Show/EMA in Louisville, KY.

Exhibitors at MATS are encouraged to assign a representative from their booth to join the host of exhibitors in the International Day of Prayer for Truckers and their famiies world wide.  You will be released promptly for the VIP opening at 10:00AM.
